Fog over the town of Cochem in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Cochem is a small town in the Moselle valley in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, between Koblenz and Trier. The whole Moselle valley is very picturesque with its vineyards and castles, but Cochem is my favourite spot there and one of my favourite small towns in Rhineland-Palatinate. The most important landmark is Reichsburg Castle, which, however, doesn’t appear in this photo.
According to the weather forecast, it was to be a very sunny, beautiful autumn day. But when I arrived in the Moselle valley in the early morning it didn’t look like that at all. The fog was so thick that I could barely see the silhouette of Reichsburg Castle. Very well, I thought, fog can also be picturesque and I had to make the best out of it. By noon, the fog had subsided and it was a beautiful, sunny autumn day after all. This is definitely not my last photo from Cochem; there is more to come.
